The Northern Light Microscopy flagship accessible imaging system is a compact, fully enclosed multi-modal platform allowing labs of all sizes to scale up their imaging capabilities and throughput.

System Overview

The AMIS has been designed from the ground up to take advanced microscopy from a niche methodology, to an easily adopted go-to imaging experiment.

Out of the box the AMIS enables advanced microscopy experiments from any standard life science lab bench. Included are all the elements necessary to get up and running, including a high-end scientific CMOS detector, multi-wavelength illumination source and a top of the line evident objective lens.

No matter whether high or low throughput is required, users can now easily leverage a range of microscopy modes, from SIM, to TIRF and widefield in this single system with no change in existing specimen workflows or extensive re-training.

Key Features & Applications

Scalable specimen throughput

Easily swapable stage inserts allows for bioimaging experiments and assays to scale with your needs.

Whether your specimens are mounted in microscope slides when diving deeper into specific cells or bio-processes of interest, or multi-well plates when 96 or more conditions are needing tested, the AMIS makes it possible.

Fully enclosed benchtop operation

The AMIS’s compact fully enclosed design allows life science bioimaging experiments to get out of the dark rooms and into your labs.

With a footprint taking up bench space of less than 40 x 40 cm, and designed for laptop control, the AMIS can slot easily into labs of all sizes.

When coupled with the AMIS robust internal laser interlock imaging experiments can be carried out safely and securely.

6+ advanced imaging modes

The NLM light-engine technology allows users to unlock more than 6+ imaging modalities in this single compact unit including both conventional and super-resolution.

The NLM approach to SIM allows for resolution doubling with any excitation laser line and is compatible with low NA, low magnification objectives when large fields of view are required, to high NA, high magnification when fine spatial detail is paramount. In addition, the resolution enhancement can be tailored to the specimen being imaged allowing for robust and reliable data to be obtained every time.
